Hinduism and Buddhism are two very old and sacred religions. Although they are very similar in many ways, the differences are distinct enough to separate them completely. One significant difference is the idea of a god or supreme being. While Hinduism believes and puts faith in a god, Buddhism does.
Hinduism and Buddhism more or less describe the pursuit of enlightenment. I initially thought that Buddhism would be nearly identical in the belief structure seeing how it is stemmed from Hinduism. There are actually many differences in the two religions and how each individual theistic system of gaining enlightenment varies.
Buddhism is an offspring of Hinduism, and it is similar in many ways to Hinduism. It began in India in about the 6th century B.C. and from there it spread throughout Asia. Today it is found mainly in Japan, China, and the Far East.
